First Sergeant James A Porter, U. S. Army (ret.) studied classical composition and orchestral conduction at the Juilliard School of Music, and elementary/middle school education at the University of Wisconsin- Green Bay, where he graduated Suma cum Laude. Porter served 24 years in the United States Army, where he conducted, composed and performed with army bands in the United States, Europe, The Middle East, and South East Asia. During his years in the army, he also worked as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of Training, where he taught classes in leadership, moral conduct, race relations, terrorism, and many others. Porter, a highly decorated soldier whose military awards include four Meritous Service Medals and ten Good Conduct Medals, is a combat veteran of Vietnam and Desert Storm. Currently, Porter lives and works in Northeast Wisconsin. See less
