Jack Grapes is the author of 15 books of poetry including The Naked Eye: New & Selected Poems, 1987-2012; Poems So Far So Far So Good So Far To Go; All the Sad Angels; Any Style; Wide Road to the Edge of the World; Last of the Outsiders: Collected Poems 1968-2019; and Save the Date. He is also the author of two books based on the techniques he's used as a teacher over the last 40 years: Method Writing and Advanced Method Writing. Jack was also founder and editor of ONTHEBUS, a highly acclaimed literary journal, and publisher of Bombshelter Press, which has brought out over 100 books by Los Angeles poets. He co-wrote and starred in Circle of Will, a metaphysical comedy about the lost years of William Shakespeare, which won several theatre critic awards for Best Comedy and Best Performance by an Actor. The play ran for several years in Hollywood, and was revived in 2013. Forthcoming books are The Tender Agonies of Charles Bukowski and Other Essays; How to Read Like a Writer: The Six Ways Writers Write Sentences; and a new book of poetry and paintings, Exit Music.
