Born in Baltimore, Maryland, J.S. Walker was first published at the age of ten for the Young Writers Association. He always had a love for creative writing and arts, filling composition notebooks and journals with poems about life through his lenses. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, J.S. Walker was first published at the age of ten for the Young Writers Association. He always had a love for creative writing and arts, filling composition notebooks and journals with poems about life through his lenses. A business school graduate of Marshall University, his English professors would schedule meetings with the dean to try and convince J.S. to transfer majors. A kind gesture it was, but J.S. did not want to lose his passion for writing with the research projects, high page counts, and deadlines that would take away from the escape of it all. He was an intern for two years at Formation Magazine, with published articles about black history, cultural misrepresentation, and even his own story about focusing on college while finding his place in a completely new setting far from home.
