J. R. Pole
Until his retirement in 1989, J. R. Pole was Rhodes Professor of American History and Institutions at Oxford University. He is a Fellow of the British Academy and the author of numerous works, including "Political Representation in England and the Origins of the American Republic" (California, 1971) and "Paths to the American Past".
