J. Marvin Spiegelman's life spans the better part of the 20th century. As a sailor in the U.S. Naval Reserve and Merchant Marine and a spiritual seeker, he has been around the world, literally and metaphorically, having known and worked with such influential people as Israel Regardie and C.A. J. Marvin Spiegelman's life spans the better part of the 20th century. As a sailor in the U.S. Naval Reserve and Merchant Marine and a spiritual seeker, he has been around the world, literally and metaphorically, having known and worked with such influential people as Israel Regardie and C.A. Meier (a colleague of C.G. Jung). He holds a Ph.D. in clinical and social psychology from UCLA, and has diplomas from both the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich and the American Board of Psychiatry. From 1961 to 1966, he was a consultant in psychology and psychiatry at Mt. Sinai Hospital. He taught at the University of Colorado, Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and at UCLA, USC, and the Pacifica Graduate Institute. He has been in private practice as a Jungian analyst in the Los Angeles area since 1959. His other books include Reich, Jung, Regardie & Me: The Unhealed Healer (New Falcon, 1991), Buddhism and Jungian Psychotherapy (New Falcon, 1995), and the anthology Catholicism andJungian Psychology (New Falcon, 1995), which he edited.
