Raised in rural Wisconsin, he graduated from Northwestern University and lived in Chicago for the better part of a decade before moving to North Carolina for a girl. Now he lives with her and their twin daughters in Durham, North Carolina. When he's not writing, he can be found on the hiking trail or sitting down with a good book.
