Iustinus Bonaventura Pranaitis (1861-1917) was a Lithuanian Catholic priest who held a Masters in Theology and worked as Professor of the Hebrew Language at the Imperial Ecclesiastical Academy of the Roman Catholic Church in Saint Petersburg, Russia. He was executed in St. Petersburg at the height of the Bolshevik Revolution for authoring this book, when anti-Semitism was declared counter-revolutionary and punishable by death.
