Hugh David was awarded his Ph. D. in 1970 by Loughborough University for a thesis on the ability of air traffic controllers to pre-dict potential conflicts. From 1970 to 2002 he worked at the Eurocontrol Experimental Centre, studying Air Traffic Controllers and Air Traffic Control by methods ranging from neurophysiology to social anthropology. He became a Chartered Ergonomist and Human Factors Expert on the foundation of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors in 2015. He spent much of this time involved with the development, measurement, running and analysis of large-scale Real-Time sim-ulations, acquiring practical experience and expertise not available in published form. This is now available as a book "Control Room Simulation" from Amazon books. From 2002 he has been studying Air Traffic Control and con-trollers, as well as the complete Air Traffic system. He has now completed a 'skeleton' re-design of the Air traffic system, applying systematic design to the complete system, to provide an efficient, satisfying system using existing technology in a planned fashion, rather than the present collection of ad-hoc expedients. This analysis is now available as this book "The Air Traffic Kludge" from Amazon Books. Selected papers, bibliography and CV are available at the website "Hughdavid.com". He is accessible at Hughdavid4@aol.com. See less
