Huey P Long
HUEY P. LONG (1893-1935), Democratic governor of Louisiana (1928-1932) and a member of the US Senate (1932-1935), was famous for his dictatorial control of his home state and for his radical proposals in the Senate for social reform. Long was assassinated by the son of a political opponent in 1935.
