Heidi Howkins
Howkins is a professional climber. She set a new standard for female alpinists in 1996 by summiting Gasherbrum II in a two-day push from Base Camp, and in 1997 she became the first woman to successfully reach the base of the summit pyramid on Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world. More recently she has led expeditions to both Everest and K2.
