Hanmin Kim

Hanmin Kim is a writer, translator, graphic novelist and the author-illustrator of several books for young people. Born and based in Seoul, South Korea, he travels extensively and has lived in Denmark, Sri Lanka, Peru and Portugal. An encounter with a tapir at a mud hole in Peru inspired this book. The tapir, with its elephant-like trunk, pig-like body and rhinoceros-like eyes, is Hanmin Kim's favorite animal.
