Gwendolyn Leick
Gwendolyn Leick was born in Austria in 1951. She studied Assyriology in Graz and moved to England in 1975. She is the author of many historical works on Mesopotamia published by Routledge, and of Mesopotamia - The Invention of the City (Penguin). She taught Anthropology in Wales and History of Architecture in London. She published Tombs of Great Leaders , with Reaktion Books in 2013, and Gertrude Mabel May (inspired by her grandmother's relationship with Gertrude Stein) with Grey Suit in 2019.
