Guy Le Strange
Guy Le Strange (1854-1933) was a leading English orientalist. Privately educated in England and France, he studied under Julius Mohl, Professor of Persian at the College de France, and established his reputation with his pioneering works on the historical geography of the Near East: 'Palestine under the Moslems'; 'Baghdad during the Abbasid Caliphate', and 'The Lands of the Eastern Caliphate'.
