His main focus areas include systemic conflict management, mindful self-management and leadership, and the application of polyvagal theory in schools. In 2008, he received the Weinheim Prize for the Promotion of Systemic Practice for the project "Approaches to a systemic leadership culture in school practice to develop a learning organization".
