Guadalupe San Miguel Jr. is Professor of History at the University of Houston and the author of numerous articles and books on the history of Mexican American, Chicana/o, and Latina/o education, politics, and culture, including Contested Policy: The Rise and Fall of Federal Bilingual Education ; Chicana/o Struggles for Education ; and Tejano Proud: Tex-Mex Music in the Twentieth Century.
