Grace Raymond Hebard

Grace Raymond Hebard was born in July 1861 in Clinton, Iowa and was best known as a historian, scholar, educator and suffragist. She was also the first woman to serve on the board of Trustees at the University of Wyoming as well as the first woman admitted to the Wyoming State Bar Association. In addition to her biography on Sacajawea, she also wrote many other books pertaining to Western America. She died in Laramie, Wyoming in October 1936.
