Gene Hill had his sights on becoming a writer as far back as he can remember. His heritage a mix of English, Welsh and American Indian, Gene grew up in the mountains of Western North Carolina listening to his parents, relatives and others spin tales about early life in the mountains. Gene Hill had his sights on becoming a writer as far back as he can remember. His heritage a mix of English, Welsh and American Indian, Gene grew up in the mountains of Western North Carolina listening to his parents, relatives and others spin tales about early life in the mountains. Some of those stories were spoken and some were sung, but all were filled with colorful descriptions, humor and surprise twists. Combine that experience with his love of Edgar Allan Poe's writing and you'll have a good idea of the influences behind his work. After college, Gene lived in the Pacific Northwest and in New England before returning home to his native state. He currently lives and writes in Greensboro, North Carolina. See less
