Gary D. Josephson MD, MBA has received his bachelor's degree with honors at the State University of New York at Albany and his MD degree at the State University of New York Downstate Medical College with Distinction in Research. Dr. Josephson completed his Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary where he was honored with the Resident Teaching Award and Turner Award for outstanding New York State Otolaryngology Resident. During this time, he was the Medical Correspondent for a local newspaper in Manhattan with a readership of over 350,000. Dr. Josephson has also completed a Pediatric Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery fellowship with the University of Virginia, as well as an MBA with highest honors from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Currently, Dr. Josephson is the Chief Medical Officer at Nemours Children's Health-Jacksonville, where he is responsible for budget and operations with a workforce of over 500 physicians, clinicians, nurses, and staff. He also holds academic rank of Professor at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Active on many boards and committees, he currently sits on both the Dean's Council and Advisory Board for the Healthcare Administration School at the University of North Florida.
