Galen A Rowell

Rowell was born in Berkeley, California, in 1940, and now lives beside the park trails he often walked with his parents. He was scaling Sierra peaks by the age of ten, rock-climbing in Yosemite at sixteen, and had made over 100 first ascents by thirty.
