She is a Spanish professor at Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania. She is the vice president of the Society for Irish Latin American Studies (SILAS). Her specialization is the study of European immigration to Latin America, especially Irish immigrants to Peru in the nineteenth century. She is the author of the Spanish version of The Invisible Experience. Irish Immigrants in Peru (2018) and Palimpsest: Short stories of Irish in Peru (2020). She is also the co-author of the three-volume Spanish textbook Raíces. Una aproximación intercultural a la lengua española.
