Frederick C. Rick Bush has written articles for more than two dozen SABR books as well as for the Biography and Games Project websites. Frederick C. Rick Bush has written articles for more than two dozen SABR books as well as for the Biography and Games Project websites. Rick lives with his wife, Michelle, their three sons - Michael, Andrew, and Daniel - and their border collie mix, Bailey, in Cypress, Texas, northwest of Houston. Rick has been an educator for over 25 years and, in the fall of 2021, will embark upon his 18th year of teaching English at Wharton County Junior College's satellite campus in Sugar Land, Texas. This volume is the fourth SABR Negro Leagues book that he has co-edited with Bill Nowlin; previous titles include Bittersweet Goodbye (1948 Birmingham Black Barons and Homestead Grays); The Newark Eagles Take Flight (1946 Newark team); and Pride of Smoketown (1935 Pittsburgh Crawfords). Rick and Bill are currently collaborating on the next book in the series (for 2022), which will feature the 1920 Chicago American Giants. See less
