Frank Palmer

Frank Palmer is Professor Emeritus of the University of Reading. Frank Palmer is Professor Emeritus of the University of Reading. He was educated at New College and Merton College, Oxford (1940-49), with a break for war service, and was a Lecturer in Linguistics at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London (1950-60), Professor and Head of Department of Linguistics at The University College of North Wales (1960-65) and Professor and Head of Department of Linguistic Science at the University of Reading (1965-87). He is a Fellow of the British Academy, a Member of the Academia Europaea and an Honorary Doctor of Letters.
