François Gilbert is a former associate researcher at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), studying Roman militaria, and was a member of the Scientific Council of the Alesia Mission, which built the museum on the ancient site of Caesar's battle and studies the proconsul's army during the Gallic Wars.
