Fernand Leger

Fernand Léger (France, 1881 - 1951) is one of the leading painters of the first half of the 20th century in Paris. His work is characterized by the use of an avant-garde language and the presence of architectural elements, the urban landscape, the iconography of the machine, geometric shapes, volumes and colors. At the beginning of Léger's artistic career, he was influenced by impressionism and the work of Cezŕnne. Later he became interested in cubism, joining the Puteaux group.
