Elizabeth Bloch-Smith earned her PhD from the University of Chicago Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. Over the last forty years she has dug in Israel, Cyprus, Tunisia, Turkey, and Connecticut, and currently teaches at Princeton Theological Seminary.
