Elise Stuart moved to Silver City in 2005, and her heart opened to the desert. She continues with this work. In the spring of 2017 her first collection of poems was published, Another Door Calls. In choosing to publish her second book, My Mother and I, We Talk Cat, a memoir of prose and poetry, she opens her heart in a more intimate way, bringing out the hidden side of her mother in order to see it in a new light.
