Elisa Hoven is a professor for German and International Criminal Law and criminal procedure law at the University of Leipzig and a judge at the Constitutional Court of Saxony. Elisa Hoven is a professor for German and International Criminal Law and criminal procedure law at the University of Leipzig and a judge at the Constitutional Court of Saxony. She studied law at the Free University of Berlin, the Radboud Universitaet Nijmegen and the University of Cambridge. She wrote her PhD on international criminal proceedings and worked as Visiting Professional at the ICC in The Hague and the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia. Elisa was a Visiting Scholar at the Berkeley University, Harvard University, Basel University, University of California, Los Angeles, and the University of Sydney. Thomas Weigend received his doctoral degree in law and his Habilitation at the University of Freiburg. He taught criminal law and criminal procedure at the University of Cologne Faculty of Law from 1986 to 2016. He has published seven books and many articles in German and foreign journals. His main research interests are in criminal law theory, (comparative) criminal procedure, criminal policy, and international criminal law. He has taught as a visiting professor at the University of Bologna, the University of Leuven, New York University, Tokyo University, Peking University, China University of Political Science and Law, and several others.
