Elias Kosmatopoulos received the Diploma, M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Technical University of Crete, Greece, in 1990, 1992, and 1995, respectively. Elias Kosmatopoulos received the Diploma, M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Technical University of Crete, Greece, in 1990, 1992, and 1995, respectively. He is currently a Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace, Xanthi, Greece. Previously, he was a faculty member of the Department of Production Engineering and Management, Technical University of Crete (TUC), Greece, a Research Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering Systems, University of Southern California (USC) and a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, University of Victoria, B.C., Canada. Dr. Kosmatopoulos' research interests are in the areas of adaptive optimization and control, IoT and Cyper-Physical Systems and their applications to energy ef cient buildings, smart grids, robotics and intelligent transportation systems. He is the author of over 55 journal papers. He serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Trans. on Intelligent Transportation Systems. He has been leading many research projects funded by the European Union with a total budget of about 20 Million Euros. See less
