David Eddie was born in Boston in1961, and has lived in the Philippines, England, Hungary and Canada. He is a graduate of the Columbia School of Journalism and has worked as a reporter for the "East Hampton Star, letters correspondent for "Newsweek magazine, a TV newswriter for the CBC, and as a film extra.
