Dr. William Mitchell
Born on a share-cropper's farm in Lincoln County, Oklahoma, William R. Mitchell has lived most of his life in central Oklahoma. After receiving his Bachelor's degree from Oklahoma City University, he received his Master's degree from Boston University in Massachusetts and his PhD at the University of Oklahoma. Born on a share-cropper's farm in Lincoln County, Oklahoma, William R. Mitchell has lived most of his life in central Oklahoma. After receiving his Bachelor's degree from Oklahoma City University, he received his Master's degree from Boston University in Massachusetts and his PhD at the University of Oklahoma. His graduate studies at Boston University were interrupted by military service in Korea. From 1958 until his retirement in 1996, he was a professor and administrator at Oklahoma Baptist University. After his retirement, he was ordained to the ministry and has served in churches in Colorado and Oklahoma. His poetry has been published in a number of literary magazines and anthologies.
