Robin Bright, PhD, is a professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Lethbridge in Alberta. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in language arts, reading, writing, and gender. Previously, Dr. Bright taught elementary school for ten years. She has written several books (including Write from the Start, published by Portage & Main Press in 2001) and numerous articles on learning to read and write.
