Dr Maya Warrier is a Lecturer in Indian Religion at the Department of Theology and Religious Studies, University of Wales, Lampeter, UK. Her research interests centre on popular Hinduism in a context of transnational migration and post-colonial modernity. She is the author of Hindu Selves in a Modern World: Guru Faith in the Mata Amritanandamayi Mission (Routledge-Curzon, 2005).
