Dr. Carlos Barreiro
Dr Carlos Barreiro was born in Ponferrada (Spain). He is graduated in Biological Sciences. On 2004, he completed his thesis on the heat shock response of Corynebacterium glutamicum in the Juan F. Martin's group. Dr. Barreiro has been involved in several projects mainly focused on Actinobacteria (eg: Streptomyces, Amycolatopsis) and fungi (eg: Penicillium, Candida). Dr Carlos Barreiro was born in Ponferrada (Spain). He is graduated in Biological Sciences. On 2004, he completed his thesis on the heat shock response of Corynebacterium glutamicum in the Juan F. Martin's group. Dr. Barreiro has been involved in several projects mainly focused on Actinobacteria (eg: Streptomyces, Amycolatopsis) and fungi (eg: Penicillium, Candida). Thus, he collaborated in the first proteome analysis of the penicillin producer fungi Penicillium chrysogenum and in the genome sequence of the immunosuppressant producer bacterium Streptomyces tsukubaensis. Four project funded by the European Union have supported his scientific career on C. glutamicum. Nowadays, he is the Head of the Proteomics unit of INBIOTEC and part-time professor in the University of Leon. See less
