Douglas Zare
Douglas Zare earned a Ph. D. in theoretical mathematics from the California Institute of Technology in 1999, and taught mathematics at Columbia University. Douglas played backgammon competitively before starting poker and writes a column on backgammon theory for GammonVillage. He mainly plays cash games, but also enjoys tournaments, and wrote the program ICM Explorer for studying decisions at the final table.
