Douglas Gordon was born in 1966 in Glasgow, Scotland. By the time he was in his early twenties, he had been to London and back to study at the Slade School of Fine Art, and then become a star of the Glasgow art scene. He came to international prominence in 1993 with i24 Hour Psycho,i in which the title Hitchcock film played out at crawling speed.
