Dorothy Finell, author of "The Specialty Shop: How To Create Your Own Unique and Profitable Retail Business" (Amacom 2007), traveled parts of the world conducting interviews with successful green business owners. Dorothy has twenty years of retail experience as the owner of specialty shops, and co-owner of the oldest department store in the United States where she was a buyer, merchandise manager, window designer, and personnel director. She served on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Retail Merchants Association, in addition to having her own radio show. Dorothy, who resides in Carmel, California, is also the author of the award-winning book, "Finally Home: Five Lives in One", a collection of personal memoirs which she wrote solely for charitable purposes and all proceeds go to the Marvin Finell Fund at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center School (for brain-damaged children). She is the mother of seven children. Prior to her retail career, she taught writing at Hanover High School and Dartmouth College. See less
