Donna Perry, PhD, RN is a Nurse Scientist and humanitarian. She is associate director of the Thomas S. Durant Fellowship for Refugee Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. Donna Perry, PhD, RN is a Nurse Scientist and humanitarian. She is associate director of the Thomas S. Durant Fellowship for Refugee Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. She also manages international nursing education in the Institute for Patient Care at MGH. Her program of research focuses on decision-making around contemporary issues of social transformation related to peace, justice and human rights. She serves as volunteer vice president of ACCESO, an NGO that sponsors humanitarian delegations to Cuba to deliver books and disability equipment and to promote Cuban-American relations. Perry is active in community service for issues of peace and social justice. She served as Health Disparities Liaison for Senator Jarrett Barrios and represented the Senator on a Massachusetts legislative panel, The State Commission to Eliminate Health Disparities. Perry has published a number of journal articles, book chapters and a book and has lectured both nationally and internationally on topics ranging from environmental justice to transformative peace building. She is particularly interested in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the emerging field of peace through health. See less
