Doc Lucky Meisenheimer (Doc Ruger) is the award-winning, critically acclaimed author of The Immune (... a sci-fi thriller that won the 2012 International Book Award and the National Indie Excellence Award for science fiction. His first nonfiction book, Lucky's Collector's Guide to 20th Century Yo-Yos, was selected for preservation by the Smithsonian Institution. Also a dermatologist and Mohs surgeon, he serves as chief of the dermatology division of Orlando Regional Medical Center. Also an avid open-water swimmer and underwater hockey player, he serves as the chairman of the board of directors for the YMCA Aquatic Center in Orlando, and is known internationally for the daily open-water lake swims he hosts at his home. A member of the Screen Actors' Guild, he has also written several screenplays and directed National Lampoon's RoboDoc Dissected: The Making of RoboDoc. He lives in Orlando with his wife, Jacquie, and their three sons: John (Headshot), Jake (Silent Blade), and Maximus (Zombie Boy). See less
