Dr. Diana Martin is Professor Emeritus and former Director of General Biology, Division of Life Sciences at Rutgers University. Dr. Martin received an M.S. from Florida State University, where she studied the chromosomes of related plant species to understand their evolutionary relationships. Dr. Diana Martin is Professor Emeritus and former Director of General Biology, Division of Life Sciences at Rutgers University. Dr. Martin received an M.S. from Florida State University, where she studied the chromosomes of related plant species to understand their evolutionary relationships. She earned a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin, where she studied the genetics of the fruit fly--Drosophila melanogaster--and then conducted postdoctoral research at Princeton University. Dr. Martin taught General Biology and other courses at Rutgers for over 30 years and has been involved in writing textbooks since 1988. She is grateful that her decision to study Biology in college led to a career that allows her to share her excitement about all aspects of the life science. See less
