Dean Faulkner Wells - b. 1936, d. 2011 - was the niece of William Faulkner and the daughter of Dean Swift Faulkner, William's youngest brother who was killed in a plane crash before his daughter was born. Dean was educated at the University of Mississippi and University of Geneva, Switzerland. Her articles have been published in The Paris Review, Parade, Ladies Home Journal, Southern Living and other magazines. She co-founded the Faux Faulkner parody contest and edited The Best of Bad Faulkner (Harcourt Brace Jovanovich).
