Darryl Thomas was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, the oldest of five children. He started drawing and writing at a young age, creating a myriad of characters and stories over the years. Darryl Thomas was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, the oldest of five children. He started drawing and writing at a young age, creating a myriad of characters and stories over the years. After moving to Chicago and attending the Illinois Institute of Art for Animation, his focus on creating his own book became a major life goal. After returning to Indianapolis to start his family, he finally began writing seriously. Some of the hobbies and events of his life occasionally make their way into his books. Geocaching, hiking, and exploring, just to name a few, are usually on the agenda every Wednesday, just after picking up the newly released comic books of the week. And living in Chicago has inspired the setting for many tales, the images and sounds of the big city permeating his writing. When not crafting a new adventure, his time is spent playing with his daughter and wife. "My parents always encouraged me and my siblings to have goals and to pursue them.
