Daphne Simpkins teaches writing at Auburn University, Montgomery, Alabama. Her many essays, articles, and short stories have appeared in a variety of periodicals nationwide, including The Chicago Tribune, The Baltimore Sun, The Miami Herald, and The Detroit Free Press. She is also the author of a biography for children titled Nat King Cole: An Unforgettable Life of Music.
