"Cole Collins grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of an occasionally Machiavellian English professor mother and a perpetually grumpy father who did top secret stuff in the U.S. Secret Service. The younger of six kids in a very loud Irish Catholic family, Cole was blissfully ignored by most of his family to play with his father's phone tapping equipment until he was a teenager, when he was diagnosed with a near-fatal case of ulcerative colitis. While successfully navigating UC, a permanent colostomy bag, and two other life-threatening diseases before he turned 25, Cole found himself working in fly-on-the-wall staff positions in state government and DC. Deciding to be more than a useless political hack, Cole entered health care policy, earned a few masters degrees, and now enjoys pontificating on health care reform. He lives in Baltimore with his two little boys and a very patient wife." See less
