Claus Richter studied mathematics at the Technical University of Dresden, Germany, and received his Ph.D. degree from the same university in 1975. Claus Richter studied mathematics at the Technical University of Dresden, Germany, and received his Ph.D. degree from the same university in 1975. After teaching in Dresden and Kothen, both in Germany, he went on to teach mathematics and computer science at a vocational school in Dessau, which is his present position. Professor Richter has published more than 60 articles and several books, in which he focuses on problems of the theoretical justification, implementation, and application of optimization algorithms, as well as on methodical problems of software development. Professor Richter has held responsible positions in several software projects which were mostly concerned with optimization and optimal open-loop control. See less
