Dr. Claudine Sherrill is internationally known for her pioneer work in adapted physical activity, physical education teacher education, psychosocial perspectives of disability, inclusion, and social justice. Dr. Claudine Sherrill is internationally known for her pioneer work in adapted physical activity, physical education teacher education, psychosocial perspectives of disability, inclusion, and social justice. She is President of the International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity (IFAPA), Professor-Emeritus of the Texas Woman's University, Editor-Emeritus of Adapted Physical Activity Quarterly (APAQ), currently on the Editorial Boards of both APAQ and Palaestra, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education. During 42 years of teaching at Texas Woman's University, Dr. Sherrill started the adapted physical education graduate personnel preparation program, directed over 200 theses and dissertations, and wrote 10 textbooks in such diverse areas as creative arts, disability sport, leadership training, and adapted physical activity.
