Cathy Anderson is the author of "The Watering Hole," a short story that won the 1994 Suncoast Writers Conference Fiction Award and the 1994 Thomas E. Sanders Award and was published in White Mule (1995). Her story "Eddie's Tavern" was published in The Lowell Pearl (2000). Her nonfiction works include "Among the Ranks," a profile of a Florida Orchestra musician, published in Event magazine (2002), four essays for the Salem Encyclopedia of Health and Medicine: Cancer (2008), and an essay on Graves' disease, published in Salem's Genetics & Inherited Disorders (2010). She has written marketing copy for Kerr Health and for the American Board of Pathology. Cathy is a Kentucky native brought up in Ohio by Southern parents. She moved back south and finally settled in Florida. Her education includes a bachelor of English degree from the University of South Florida and an RN degree from Ohio Northern University/Riverside School of Nursing.
