Carol Lynn Martin, Ph.D., has been a professor of child development at Arizona State University for more than 15 years. She is a member of the Society for Research in Child Development and the National Council on Family Relations and a fellow of the American Psychological Association. Martin has been associate editor for Developmental Psychology and was a member of the editorial board of Child Development. She has published over 50 articles and book chapters, including a co-authored chapter in the new edition of the Handbook of Child Psychology. Most of these publications are in the areas of gender-role development and the cognitive processes underlying it. She is married to Richard Fabes, and away from work she enjoys yoga, tennis, traveling, and reading. See less
