Carlos Perez has a M.A. in English and a B.F.A. in Speech and Theatre, and was a tenured college professor who taught speech and theatre for 13 years. His original screenplay "Jeremy's World" has just been optioned and is based on his stage play of the same name. Carlos has placed or been a finalist in the 2002 New Century Writer Awards Playwriting Competition, the 2000 Southwest Festival of New Plays, and the 1996 Writer's Digest magazine competition in the stage play category. He was also a semi-finalist in the auspicious Chesterfield Writer's Film Project with his stage play "Visions in Amber" and his screenplay "Strays." Carlos' produced screenplays as a writer-for-hire include "666 The Ritual," "Agent Beetle," "Don't Go in the Cellar," "Star Quest: The Odyssey," and "Vamps in the City." His recent publications also include "School Days: Tales of Teens at Weeping Willow High" and "Tales from a Disturbed Mind," both of which are short story collections.
