Carlos A. de Moura is a retired, now Visiting Professor for the State University of Rio de Janeiro-UERJ, Brazil, at the graduate programs of Computational Sciences and Mechanical Engineering. He got a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the New York University-Courant Institute, USA (1976), under the supervision of Peter D. Lax and Jerome A.
