Camilo Torres

Born into a wealthy Colombian family, Camilo Torres was ordained a Catholic priest in 1954. He admired Che Guevara and the Cuban revolution and his political activity led him to join the ELN guerrilla movement in the mountains. He was killed in combat during his first encounter with the army, his death mourned by thousands of peasants, workers and students.
